Minecraft KN Laucher V1.404 Windows
Some background:Slightly over a month ago, Minecraft suddenly stopped working on my computer. There was no strange behavior of any kind prior to that. I have tried a couple of usual fixes, such as re-downloading and re-installing both Minecraft and Java (64-bit) itself. Unfortunately, neither of these fixes did anything. Cleaning the registry for leftovers from possibly corrupt Java re-install didn't help either. Then I have checked the firewall, to see if it conflicts with Minecraft or Java, and it doesn't.

I had a similar problem to what you're describing (albeit probably for different reasons, as I'm running a linux setup on a Chromebook); what ended being a passable solution for me was to use Magic Launcher:It's basically a launcher made to allow for mods to easily be loaded but I basically used it to circumvent the fact that I was having a problem with the official launcher. See if that works as a workaround until someone with a better solution can help out.If you do end up trying it, I used Magic Launcher and ran the 'test' launch from the settings menu before logging in with my own account.Good luck! You might need to get a faster running minecraft or reinstall minecraft if your having problems. How to make minecraft faster: Hold Ctrl+alt+delete and it should bring up a menu (Note minecraft should be running at this time), then you should click task manager. You need to go to applications and find minecraft. Right click it and click go to process. Then you should right click the process and set priority and set it exactly 1 higher or this could lead to system damage.Reinstalling minecraft: Find minecraft and delete it. Then go to control pannel and find (Uninstall a Program) and click minecraft, it should uninstall automaticly.
Then go to the minecraft homepage:. Sign in and reinstall.exe (Please note that if.exe doesn't work try.msi) and then reinstall every mod or anything you need like forge or optifine. I hope you found this useful from anything you need.

To run Minecraft 1.6.2+, go to Setup - Environment and select 1.6.2. If the Environment 1.6.2 is not available, use the vanilla launcher to download and start Minecraft 1.6.2, then Environment 1.6.2 should appear in the list.To run Minecraft 1.6.2+ with Forge, go to Setup - Environment and select 1.6.2ForgeXYZ. If the Environment 1.6.2Forge is not available, use the vanilla launcher to download and start Minecraft 1.6.2, then use the Forge installer to install Forge and then the Environment 1.6.2ForgeXYZ should appear in the list.StartingDouble click the downloaded file and the MagicLauncher should start.Older versions. The order of the mods is important as some of them are designed to 'overwrite' parts of other mods.2. The ModLoader has to be first in the mods list, use the button Up to move it to first position.
ModLoader is not needed if Forge 4.0 or newer is installed.3. Then come (if you need them) ModLoaderMP and Forge.4.
Then come the rest of the mods and last comes OptiFine. Only one OptiFine edition may be active as they overwrite each other.5. Do not forget to start with a clean minecraft.jar.
If it is already modified or patched, then some mods may not work correctly.6. A mod should appear either in the internal or the external mod list, but not in both at the same time.7. Mods which have status 'No mods found' needs to be repackaged to be used. The mod ZIP file usually have a folder 'putinminecraftjar' or similar which contains one or more files like 'acx.class'. The contents of this folder have to be zipped in a separate ZIP file and added as an internal mod. This solution works with almost all problematic mods.8. If you get an error 'No accelerated mode found' or 'Bad OpenGL drivers' you may try running Minecraft with less memory.
Go to 'Setup - Advanced', enter 256 in the field Memory and test again. This helps with some integrated graphics cards.TODO.

Quote fromThe launcher works like a charm, my only problem with it is that i can't allocate over 1200 mb to ram even if i have 5 gb. Also if allocating over 1200 nothing gets in the logs, the game simply doesn't start. The launcher log (Setup - Show Log) shows the error.Error occurred during initialization of VMCould not reserve enough space for object heapCould not create the Java virtual machine. The 32-bit Java is limited to 2000 MB. In reality the limit may be lower depending on memory usage. On my computer it is 1500 MB.To allocate more memory you need 64-bit Java installed.
