Thank them for their time!Friends of /r/PSO2 GameGenrePublisher/Other. First alpha of English patch released! Translates some of character creation (Thanks Nagato!) and many various menus. Expect some parts/most of the game to be untranslated, mostly just testing to make sure things work right.
(And show that it's real) Get hype?If you installed the Game with updates through 2 VPK files: Just drop the CPK into the /patch/PCSG00351 folder. That's it.If you installed just the base game, no updates, through a VPK file: Create a /patch/PCSG00351 folder. Place the CPK in that folder, along with this: so that you have a scesys folder, and the param.sfo is inside of it.If you have the cartridge with the latest update: delete the latest update (Delete all the files in patch/PCSG00351/ and place the CPK in that folder, along with this: so that you have a scesys folder, and the param.sfo is inside of it.If you have the cartridge with no update: Create a /patch/PCSG00351 folder. Place the CPK in that folder, along with this: so that you have a scesys folder, and the param.sfo is inside of it.Some of the main menu is translated, a lot of work went into translating what we'd already found (various base strings, character strings, deep freeze stuff, etc). We're working on a better method so we can actually dump all the text in the game, right now it's just kind of shooting in the dark.
Hi all, long story short, I ended up relocalizing the entire script as well as retranslating important parts of PSIV. All because 'Parma' and 'Lubetz' have bothered me since 1995.The patch is v 140 and has been comprehensively re-edited and tested to about 60% through the game, so I figured it might be in good enough shape to share. I likely won't be able to play it anytime soon, but it still looks pretty good. Also, were there any changes to anything like items? Great looking hack eitherway.Hey, sorry, I forgot that I posted this here!I actually just finally completed the game myself w/ the patch, so naturally I found tons of more things to fix.So if you (and anyone else) waited to give this a look, I'm glad you did! I'd consider it 'finalish' now. What kind of item changes were you thinking of? I didn't change any stats or properties if that's what you mean.I did change item names only when it made sense with ProperCaser - like 'TORN-DAGGR' or whatever it was is now 'TornadoDgr'. Stuff like that.Accompanying the hack is a (now incomplete) list of changes w/ explanations to the proper nouns and the script in the game, as a Word doc.
